OPEN CITY ISTANBUL


After the 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) has closed its doors, parts of the exhibition Open City: Designing Coexistence will be presented at other international venues. Open City Istanbul is one of these exhibitions, curated by Phillipp Misselwitz and Can Altay in cooperation with IABR and the professorship Kees Christiaanse.

 

Open City Istanbul compiles researches and proposals on the open city theme of various artists, activists, researchers, architects and planners. The exhibition consists of three parts:

 

Open City Forum
curated with Tim Rieniets (ETH Zurich)

 

Refuge
Critical projects and positions by architects, urbanists, artists and activists

 

Bas Princen - 5 Cities
Photographs from Istanbul, Beirut, Amman, cairo and Dubai
